our mission
We help each individual person develop a recovery plan.
Co- Founder & CEO – Beth Snyder
Elizabeth K. Slusser – Snyder was born in 1961 in Chicago and in 1972 her family moved to the very small town of Brookston, IN, located outside of Lafayette, IN. Beth is the mother of three grown sons and has six grand children.
She entered her personal recovery on Feb 25, 1987 and has remained continuously clean and sober since that date.
Beth is nationally known for her expertise in the field of addiction and business with over thirty years of personal and professional experience.
In 1991 she created and started her own recovery educational program named “Sobriety School” which she has presented nationally to thousands of suffering addicts/alcoholics since that time. Beth is known for her infectious laugh and encouraging spirit.
Chemical dependency will destroy many areas of an individual’s life if left untreated and will chronically get worse. Our long-term live-in program and education helps each individual person develop a recovery plan that integrates time-tested and cutting-edge practices and education to sustain their recovery.
Since 2006 we have served over 3500 men and women and they all have received those vital necessary ingredients of “hope, motivation, care, education, and support” as they pursue personal recovery.
our approach
We encompass a non-judgmental and respectful approach.
The Lighthouse is NOT a medical or clinical facility and does NOT prescribe pharmaceuticals or narcotics to treat addictions.
Over all we do not believe long-term drug replacement with a controlled substance is the best method. This is one of our spotlights as we believe that abstinence is the best technique for restoring optimal brain function, and eliminating the symptoms of addiction. Pure chemical abstinence proves consistently – over the ages of time – to be the best offense. (If you are currently under the care of a doctor and are taking medications that are not a controlled substance WE DO ALLOW you to continue. If you are currently taking a controlled substance due to a medical detox we will work with you just short term in order for make your medicine adjustments with your doctor.)
I've known Beth, Patti, and many of the others at Lighthouse Recovery Home for years. The work they do, the commitment and dedication they give, and the lives that they help to change are innumerable. Caring, compassionate, and fully focused on their purpose is just one way to describe them all. Highly recommend this facility and the care and attention they provide.

Indiana
We encompass a non-judgmental and respectful approach to help heal the whole person – Body, Brain/Mind, and Spirit. Social stigmas, spiritual deficiencies, and sometimes often chemical imbalances are the general underlying causes of addictive behaviors, and have led to addiction to street drugs, alcohol, and/or medically prescribed pharmaceuticals.
