The Hammond House is our primary Phase 1 House. This house is in a very safe and secure neighborhood. This modern, well lit, cared for home is located close to employment, recovery meetings, and shopping.
We are located in Northwest Indiana and our area is well known for its beautiful Indiana Dunes and National Lakeshore Park.
The breathtaking features of Lake Michigan are only a short 10-minute drive.
We also have many local 12 step meetings and community organizations that have been supporting recovery for over 64 years.
Lake Area Recovery Club hosts meetings for Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), Al-Anon, and Narcotics Anonymous (NA). Please Visit – Lake Area Recovery Club.
Our Lafayette Women’s Home is our 3/4 House Phase 2 residence with 2 stories 4 bedrooms 2 baths and a well equipped kitchen just like home. We have our local bus route just outside the home.
Coming Soon – We will be have a Grand Opening of the ‘Meeting Place’. Our meeting place to host recovery groups and personal growth classes.
Our Ladies House Director, Eleanor ‘Nort’ Estes have over 38 years in recovery.
The home has 8 beds, 4 bedrooms and is 2 stories. The house is in a very pretty, cozy and well-lit neighborhood. Safe and secure.

1 – Moral Reconation Therapy MRT®
As evidenced in more than 200 scholarly articles, MRT works because it changes the behaviors and decision-making errors that led to incarceration, addiction, and mental health issues in the first place. MRT helps people achieve long-term stability in their lives.
2 – The 12-Step Program of Recovery
The 12 steps are also used in recovery programs for addictions other than alcohol such as CA, NA, GA, and many more.
3 – Have a Faith Driven Program of a God of Your Own Understanding
We recommend having a faith driven program of a God of your own understanding, such as – Celebrate Recovery or Brianna’s Hope.
Home Amenities and Features
Here at the Lighthouse Sober Homes for Women- we are blessed beyond belief for so many different reasons.
The best reason is it does not feel like a “sober living house/halfway house” that consists of four walls and some furniture, with women living inside of their rooms, simply sharing a space to live.
All our homes include the following services –
One hot meal is provided. (Variety of food available for other meals). Free Wi-Fi, long-distance calling, washer/dryer, computer access, etc.
Local AA/NA, Celebrate Recovery, Briana’s Hope, CA & HA.
Our own 9-month “Sobriety School”.
One-on-One sober coaching/mentoring with staff or approved mentor/sponsor.
New MRT Course (Moral Reconation Therapy) Evidence-based and registered with SAMSHA.
In-House and other local Recovery Coaches are available for our residents
Sober functions- Conventions, Retreats, Dances, Workshops, Speaker Jams, etc.
17 hours a week of documented recovery hours to create the foundation for a future abstinent-based “Recovery Lifestyle”.
Local immediate employment including felons.
24/7 monitoring by our “live in” House Staff and ADT security system.
Random/regular U/A Drug & Alcohol breathalyzer testing.
Access to discounted/free medical services, counseling, I.O.P & P.H.P.
Assistance with GED, resume building, job search, and rebuilding life in recovery.
